Mandla Ncikazi was delighted as Kwame Peprah finally got on the scoresheet for Orlando Pirates.
The 21-year-old striker netted both goals in Bucs’ 2-1 DStv Premiership victory over Marumo Gallants on Monday and duly scooped the Man of the Match award.
After Siphelele Ntshangase had opened the scoring in the 12th minute at the Orlando Stadium, Peprah hit back with two goals in quick succession in the 24th and 26th minutes.
Reflecting on the forward’s performance, having scored for the first time in 13 matches, Ncikazi said on Soccer Laduma: “Peprah has always had signs, unlucky in some moments and some efforts.
“As a technical team, we had the responsibility to support him, and it’s important that we see the game as coaches [and] not like everybody else.
“Him not scoring but still contributing to the team set up in building the attack and giving the assist if it’s possible – that is a contribution which is how we saw the match.
“I’m so happy that he started scoring today.”
