Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi had praise for his side following their narrow 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership on Saturday.
Ranga Chivaviro opened the scoring at the FNB Stadium after just nine minutes.
Lucas Ribeiro Costa levelled for the champions with 31 minutes played and Iqraam Rayners netted a 37th-minute winner.
It was the first dropped points for Nabi’s side after three games, to leave Chiefs in fourth place on the league standings with six points from three games.
Speaking after the match, the head coach said in the Citizen: “It was a beautiful game, not only from Chiefs, from both teams. We did (both) have opportunities that we didn’t score, but it was good.
“It was a high-tempo match, with lovely football, I think for the third game in the league it was good from both teams.”
Nabi also defended striker Chivaviro for missing two clear-cut chances late in the game.
“In two games Ranga has two goals, I don’t know how many he scored last season,” said the Chiefs coach.
“Step by step, all the players will progress. Ranga needs work, specifically in finishing, I think he also needs another striker with him.”
