Nasreddine Nabi full of praise for Mfundo Vilakazi after the youngster fired Kaizer Chiefs to victory in opening game of the new Betway Premiership season.
Amakhosi found themselves a goal down away to Marumo Gallants at the Free State Stadium on Saturday to an eighth minute opener from Sekela Sithole.
Mduduzi Shabalala restored parity with his 17th minute effort and Vilakazi netted a spectacular 79th minute winner after coming off the bench for Christian Saile on the hour mark.
Joseph Malongoane had seen red for Gallants with 76 minutes played.
Reflecting on picking up all three points in his first league clash, Nabi also lauded his players’ character.
The Amakhosi boss said said on SuperSport: “Vilakazi is a young boy, he has a big talent and I do protect him. I protect him from the media.
“He is a big talent. I love him so I need to protect him.”
Nabi continued: “I think the (most important) thing about the game is three points.
“(Wth the) team spirit and winning attitude, the new players, I’m very happy. But I really have too much work.
“Please give me time, lovely club, lovely fans, if you give me time I promise you I’ll be cooking for you, but I’m not very happy with too many things.”
Chiefs are next in action away to AmaZulu on Wednesday.
