Strasbourg and Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mothiba is reportedly on the radar of English Premier League side Watford though a move is unlikely.
Mothiba enjoyed a successful season with Strasbourg in 2018/19 as he banged in 11 goals and helped his team win the Coupe de la Ligue.
In addition, the French outfit qualified for the Europa League in 2019/20.
The player’s agent Jihed Taniche told Soccer Laduma: “Lebo had a great first season with Strasbourg, so there’s no surprise that there’s been interest from other clubs.”
Taniche added that it was a priority for the forward to gain his French passport as it would open doors in Europe.
The 23-year-old has been in France since 2014 and it seems he is nearing eligibility to get the document.
He concluded: “Watford in England are interested, but Lebo has just started the process for a French passport so unless there’s an offer we or Strasbourg can’t refuse then he will be staying here.”
The Johannesburg-born star is currently in the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
