University of Pretoria Coach Tlisane Motaung says his side are ready for Swallows in Wednesday’s final PSL promotion/relegation play-off encounter.
Tuks only need to draw with the Dube Birds to secure a historic promotion to the DStv Premiership.
Motaung’s side overcame Cape Town All Stars 3-1 before drawing 0-0 with Swallows and 1-1 with All Stars to head into their final match on top of the standings with five points.
Swallows are second with four points but suffered a huge blow to their promotion hopes by losing 2-1 to All Stars last time out. Both Tuks and Swallows have played three games, with All Stars out of the running with four points from their four games.
Ahead of the Lucas Masterpieces Stadium, Motaung told IOL: “Our preparations before the match (Cape Town All Stars vs Swallows) were directly linked to us playing to win the game against Swallows and even afterwards we are still preparing to go and win against Swallows FC.
“We feel it would be fairly unusual for Tuks to play a sort of defensive style, we have never done that and it would be a great injustice to my players if I asked them to play like that just because that would be enough.
“We will do what we have been doing which is playing the game at high intensity, use our aerial power, press in the right moments and utilizing our direct football approach, some call it helicopter football but I call it dynamic football.”
