Pitso Mosimane says Ramahlwe Mphahlele joining Kaizer Chiefs is out of his control |
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane reveals there is not much he can do to prevent Kaizer Chiefs poaching defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele.
Mphahlele is on the verge of leaving Sundowns for free when his contract expires at the end of this month and fans of the club are disappointed the Brazilians have not been able to convince him to renew his deal.
However, Chiefs have reportedly offered the defender a lucrative contract offer and signing-on bonus that Downs are unable to match.
“Yes we need Rama. I’d like Rama to stay in the team, but now the issue is beyond me,” Mosimane told Goal.
“It is Rama and the club management, and his agents. It is beyond me and my technical team.
“The challenge is, I hear Chiefs are breaking the bank. What can you do? Rama must get what he thinks is right for himself. It is his future, he served me well as a captain and played all the games when he was available.
“When he was injured he was unbelievable with the rehab. He really showed professionalism. I like Rama the player.
“By the way he is still my captain. But if the business is going to be more than the game then us coaches we step aside.
“Ask Sundowns, maybe they will give you the latest developments, we don’t know what is happening behind the scenes.”
