Moses Shumah Joins AmaZulu FC from Zambian Champions Power Dynamos

Shumah’s brief but impressive spell at Power Dynamos comes to an end, during which he quickly emerged as one of the most dangerous forwards in Zambian football.

The club confirmed that an agreement had been reached with the Durban-based side, allowing the striker to make the move despite still having a year remaining on his contract.

Shumah joined Power Dynamos from Kenyan club Kakamega Homeboyz in July last year and enjoyed a remarkable debut season. He claimed the MTN Super League Golden Boot after scoring 21 league goals and finished his time at the club with 23 goals in all competitions.

Power Dynamos chief executive Gibson Chaloba praised the striker’s contribution and said the club fully supported his next career step.

“Moses had an excellent season for us and his goals were a major reason for our success,” said Chaloba.

“He worked hard, remained focused and has earned this opportunity to take the next step in his career. We are happy for him and wish him all the best in South Africa.”

The club also confirmed the departure of midfielder Brian Masanyinga, who has left to join the Zambia Police Service. Chaloba thanked the midfielder for his professionalism and commitment during his time at the club.

“Brian always gave his best whenever called upon and conducted himself professionally throughout his time at the club,” he said.

Shumah’s rise has been rapid. After joining Kakamega Homeboyz in 2022, he developed into one of Kenya’s top forwards and finished as the leading scorer in the 2024-25 Kenyan Premier League with 17 goals before earning his move to Zambia.

The striker has also made his mark on the international stage. He debuted for the Kenya national football team in June 2023 and scored the winning goal on his debut against Pakistan in a Four-Nation Tournament held in Mauritius.
