Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi says Khuliso Mudau deserves to receive a call-up from Bafana Bafana.
The 26-year-old right-back has been excellent for the Brazilians this season and scooped the Man of the Match award following the recent win over TS Galaxy, as he netted the first goal in a 3-0 win.
A former Black Leopards defender, Mudau joined the Brazilians in 2020 and has worked hard to become an important member of a very talented squad.
Mngqithi said on KickOff: “I think Mudau has done well from the beginning of the season up until now and has been one of the standout performers, that’s why he has made life difficult for Thapelo [Morena] even in that space.
“We still believe as Sundowns coaches that the potential of the boy is bigger than what everybody else thinks, defensively he is very solid, offensively he has got a lot of good qualities.”
Mngqithi added: “He can even play as a central midfielder which I think also helps to solve tactical and technical issues that are demanded in the game.
“He is one of the few modern fullbacks that can also play in the central midfield comfortably, play the wide channel very comfortably, take on opponents one against one, those are big attributes and defensively very powerful, and very quick as well.
“He is very quick, he wins lots of duals, I think it’s a matter of time before the national coaches see him but I am very confident he will get to the national team very soon.”
