Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo was removed from the line-up for the Carling Black Label Cup final due to injury.
Khuzwayo has had a nightmare of a time since joining the Sea Robbers from Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the previous 2018/19 campaign.
The shot-stopped suffered a serious injury early into his stint at Mayfair and is yet to make an official appearance for Bucs.
Recent reports suggest he will be meeting with Pirates boss Dr Irvin Khoza to discuss his potential release, such is the nature of the career-threatening injury.
Nonetheless, ‘Micho‘ told reporters that the 29-year-old had been dropped from Saturday’s final at FNB Stadium against Kaizer Chiefs due to ‘precautionary aspects.’
He said: “Due to precautionary measures, we needed to put Brilliant out of contention, and I will limit myself there because, as a coach, I have no right to cross the line towards medical aspects.”
