New Mamelodi Sundowns signing Sipho Mbule has revealed who his role-models from the Brazilians were growing up.
Mbule signed with Sundowns from Pretoria rivals SuperSport United earlier this week bringing to an end a protracted transfer saga that saw him frozen out of the Matsatsantsa side in the second half of the season.
As a youngster, Mbule reveals that he was a fan of Sundowns and made mention of four players in particular whom he looked up to.
“I started watching Sundowns when I was very young,” he told SundownsTV. “I started watching Sundowns in the era of Koketso Mmotong, Teko Modise, Surprise Moriri and Katlego Mphela.
“I supported them once and they have been doing well also [in recent years]. They made me love football, I fell in love with football…
“I was a kid who always loved football. I never spent time doing other things or playing other sports. I’ve always been into football and I always watched football. The legend that kept me going was Teko Modise.”
