Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Patrick Mayo has warned Amakhosi to be ready to fight “mentally and physically” when they take on Amazulu on Tuesday.
It will be the first game in charge for new Usuthu coach Jozef Vukisic after the KZN club sacked Cavin Johnson.
While Kaizer Chiefs have made a good start to the season, having collected 10 points from their first five games, Amazulu have yet to taste a win this campaign and only have two draws on the board.
Mayo has urged the Soweto giants not to take the game for granted on Tuesday.
The former Chiefs striker told Goal: “It’s not going to be an easy game in Durban.
“AmaZulu are desperate for a win and they know they don’t have time to donate the points. Therefore Chiefs cannot afford to take them for granted.
“They just released their coach and that means they cannot lose at home and that’s a message that they want to run things around.
“Chiefs must be prepared to fight mentally and physically because they meet a team that is not prepared to lose at home.
“Chiefs should expect a tough match because there is no small team in the league anymore.”
