MARSHALL MUNETSI REMAIN HOPEFUL OF WALTER MUSONA’S RETURN TO THE DSTV PREMIERSHIP

Zimbabwe senior men’s team captain Marshall Munetsi believes his national teammate Walter Musona still has a future in the DStv Premiership.

Musona, 28, the younger brother of ex-Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona, spent three years with Polokwane City before moving to Sekhukhune United after Polokwane’s relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in 2020.

However, Musona was not retained at Sekhukhune United after their promotion and returned to his childhood club, FC Platinum. He left Platinum after a reported conflict with coach Norman Mapeza and joined Simba Bhora.

Munetsi, formerly of Orlando Pirates, told IDiski Times that Musona can still make an impact in the DStv Premiership, even for the ‘Big Three’ teams.

“I believe he is one of the players who, despite leaving Polokwane City, still has the quality to play for Pirates, Chiefs, and Sundowns,” Munetsi told IDiski Times.

“The suspension was a setback, but hopefully, things can improve because we had a good relationship with the PSL in South Africa and the Zimbabwe Premier League.”
