Mike Makaab says he is in discussions with Mamelodi Sundowns over the future of Manqoba Mngqithi.
The former Brazilians co-coach is currently emplpyed as first team coach but is coming to the end of his contract.
Reports suggest the former AmaZulu, Chippa United and Golden Arrows boss is a top target for Kaizer Chiefs, who are looking to restructure their coaching set-up ahead of next season.
Mngqithi’s agent suggests discussions are ongoing but it remains to be seen whether or not his stay at Chloorkop will be extended.
Makaab said on Gagasi FM: “At the moment we are in discussions with Mamelodi Sundowns regarding the ways forward for Manqoba.
“I have had various discussions at a high level. I am hoping honestly that within the next two weeks it will be resolved, because at the end of it all we have to make a decision in fairness to Manqoba, we have to make a decision.
“His contract comes to an end at the end of the season, and at the end of the day he is a professional and has to seek employment, but we have had some very positive discussions.”
