Teboho Mokoena scored a sublime long-range goal as Mamelodi Sundowns recorded a crucial 1-0 victory over Pyramids in their Caf Champions League encounter in Cairo.
The win moves Sundowns on to seven points from their four matches in the group, joint top with TP Mazembe who beat Nouadhibou 2-0.
Mokoena found the back of the net in the 17th minute after the midfielder received a pass from Lucas Costa just outside box before rifling a low drive through the crowd of players.
There was concern later in the first half when Mokoena had to be substituted with what looks a serious injury and the Africa Cup of Nations starting next month.
The hosts looked to get back in the game with South African striker Fagrie Lakay looking dangerous but it was to no avail as Masandawana grabbed maximum points.
Sundowns have two group matches remaining with their next game in the continental tournament taking place in February when they travel to Mauritania to play Nouadhibou before hosting TP Mazembe.
