Dan Malesela knows there is still a lot of work to be done with Royal AM to ensure they can reach the levels achieved last season.
Thwihli Thwahla ended in third place on the DStv Premiership standings in the previous campaign and started this brightly enough this time around.
The club kicked off this term with a 1-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns before seeing off Chippa United 3-1.
But they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Stellenbosch at the weekend and a 1-0 loss to Orlando Pirates on Wednesday where Deon Hotto scored the only goal of the game at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 34 minutes.
Speaking after the game, the co-coach told SuperSport: “Very good game overall, we could have at least gotten out with a draw, if not a win [they] got one chance and used it and that was the result.
“But we’re very happy with the improvements that we have made in terms of playing and trying to find goals.
“We had half chances there and there, we could have done better, decision-making not good. But it’s work in progress.
“You have so little time to correct those mistakes that are done but we try and I think the signs are there that we’ll get better with time.
“How better can we get them, what combination can we have that’s more solid, more purposeful in terms of scoring goals, once we get that right I think we’ll be on the right track.”
