Nasreddine Nabi’s Kaizer Chiefs will once again take to the pitch to continue their quest for domestic glory. The Soweto Giants come into their clash with Magesi in the bottom half of the log standings.
The Clinton Larsen-lead outfit captured headlines earlier this season, after they found themselves 3 nil up against Orlando Pirates within the opening stanza.
Three Peat
Kaizer Chiefs are facing a critical juncture in their season after suffering consecutive league defeats at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United respectively. Indeed, they have not seen three straight topflight defeats since March 2024, under interim-boss Cavin Johnson.
Coach Nabi remains optimistic, though, pointing out that there are still 26 matches left to play. To revive their hopes for topflight honours, Chiefs must swiftly rebound from this slump and keep pace with fellow Soweto Giants Orlando Pirates, who are currently enjoying a perfect record in the league.
One glimmer of hope lies in Chiefs’ impressive away form. Amakhosi have consistently delivered on the road, scoring five goals across their three away league outings, blanking on one occasion. This excludes their four nil romp of SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout just a fortnight ago.
Player Spotlight
Mduduzi Shabalala has been somewhat of a revelation this season. Under the tutelage of Nabi, the twenty year old has shown a great deal of improvement which is evident contributions in the advanced areas of the pitch. Shabalala has delivered two assists and a goal in Chief’s previous four away fixtures, across all competitions.
Last time out against SuperSport United, he attempted three shots and created four chances for his teammates so keep an eye out on him here!

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 19:30 on Wednesday, 30 October and will be carried live on the public broadcaster’s radio stations for commentary. The match will be broadcast live on satellite TV giants SuperSport channel 202 and can also be streamed on Showmax.
