Mabhuti Khenyeza encourages Golden Arrows to capitalize on their recent victories

Golden Arrows coach Mabhuti Khenyeza wants his side to build on their recent improved run of form.

The Betway Premiership club ended a six-match winless run with a 3-2 win over Royal AM on Tuesday.

Arrows had previously held SuperSport United to a goalless draw.

Next up for Khenyeza’s team is a home tie with Cape Town City at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Sunday.

The Abafana Bes’thende boss wants his team to display the same fighting spirit against the Citizens.

While Arrows are in seventh place on the league standings with 10 points, City are down in 11th with eight points and come into this game on the back of a 1-0 win over Polokwane City.

Khenyeza said in the Sowetan: “It was good for the players and give credit to them. We, coaches, are not playing, we are here to guide them. When they fight, we need to give them credit because they’ve been working hard.

“The game against Royal drained us, we can’t get over-excited with everything. We still need to control the excitement, we need to stay focused, and we only have 48 hours to celebrate before shifting our attention to our next game.

“There are a lot of positives we took from the game against Royal, and we are looking forward to the next game.”

Khenyeza added: “We were not winning in the last six matches, we were losing or drawing and we made the players aware that we need to change this mentality to our advantage.”
