Maahier Davids says new signing Kwanda Mngonyama has the personality to succeed at Orlando Pirates.
The 27-year-old centre back joined Bucs from Maritzburg United this season.
He will compete with Happy Jele and Thulani Hlatshwayo as well as fellow new signing Olisa Ndah for a place in the team.
Davids, the Maritzburg assistant coach, is confident that Mngonyama will impress the Pirates coaches.
He told Soccer Laduma: “He’s got the ability from the football point of view; he’s got the personality to play at a big institution like Orlando Pirates.
“I’m sure he will do well, it’s about him now, he’s got the opportunity and the ball is in his court now.
“He has to work hard, and he has to convince the technical team and the management that he is the right man for the job, and when given the opportunity I’m sure he will do well.
