The 27-year-old joined the Buccaneers from fellow Betway Premiership side Siwelele FC after the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign and has already scored twice in four appearances.

Lungu revealed his targets for the new campaign with the Soweto giants as they look to defend their MTN8, Carling Cup and Betway Premiership titles.

“You know with winning something [league title] once, people will say it’s a fluke and whatever,” said Lungu on the club website.

“We want to win it again so that we can say the first time wasn’t a fluke. It’s something that needs to be in our DNA. For the fans, we would like to go as far as possible, even in the CAF competition [Champions League]. We wanna win it, we wanna win the league.”

“To be honest, I wanna win everything this season with this team and I believe that we can if we just keep working and pushing together.”

AmaBhakaniya continue their top eight title defence in the first leg semi-final clash against Sekhukhune United at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, with Lungu having scored the decisive extra-time winner in the quarterfinal against Durban City.
