Former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates winger Helman Mkhalele is concerned that if left unchecked, age-cheating will continue to have a negative effect on the development of local football.  Mkhalele was speaking on the sidelines of an Under-15 provincial schools tournament held in Rustenburg this past weekend. SAFA have confirmed that Bafana Bafana will play Morocco in an international friendly on October 11. The clash with the Atlas Lions will take place at Agadir New Stadium in Agadir City, southwest of Morocco. Orlando Pirates are through to the CAF Champions League semi-finals after drawing 0-0 with Al Ahly at Orlando Stadium. The draw was enough to take Bucs through, after Zamalek beat AC Leopards 4-1 in El Gouna, Egypt. Pirates will meet Tunisian giants Esperance on October 4-6 in the semi-final, first leg, while Al Ahly are up against Coton Sport of Cameroon.

Orlando Pirates star Andile Jali faces up to five more weeks on the sidelines with a shoulder injury. The ex-University of Pretoria man tore a muscle in Pirates’ 1-0 victory over Polokwane City in the Premiership on Wednesday night. Club doctor Thabiso Mmoledi has confirmed Jali will need surgery after the player underwent a scan on Friday. – via KickOff

Crystal Palace midfielder and Bafana Bafana international Kagisho Dikgacoi has set up a charitable foundation to provide South African youngsters with opportunities for better life chances through education and sport. The Kagisho Dikgacoi Foundation (KDF) will be unveiled at a gala dinner on October 26 at The Guoman Tower Hotel in London. The Premier Soccer League have confirmed the dates and venues for the Telkom Knockout. Orlando Pirates will open the competition with Mpumalanga Black Aces at Mbombela Stadium on October 2, while holders Bloemfontein Celtic start their defence against Mamelodi Sundowns at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium four days later.
