Celtic scored a stoppage-time winner at Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium on Saturday to book their place in the quarter-final stage of the Nedbank Cup with a 3-2 win over the Team of Choice.

Phunya Sele Sele have been struggling for form in the Absa Premiership and find themselves down in 10th position, but Seema reckons the cup win will do wonders for their confidence.

“This is a massive win for us, especially after our disappointing trip to Gauteng where we lost to Highlands and Sundowns,” Seema said, according to Sowetan Live.

“It was very important to get a win. Losing three games consecutively can cause a lot of panic. So I think this win will also help us turn things around in the league.

“Beating a tough team like Maritzburg brought back confidence to say ‘look, we can beat anyone in this league’.

“I strongly feel that this performance will transfer to the league because we are not entirely safe from relegation.

“We have to get to the 30-point mark [they currently sit on 25 points].”

Asked whether he thought Celtic could challenge for the Nedbank Cup, Seema added: “We can’t be thinking too far ahead and get carried away, but it would be nice to end this season with a cup… the way we’ve been playing I think we deserve to get something, I mean this Nedbank Cup.”
