Lebese is currently a free agent and training on his own after being released by Sundowns at the start of the season.

The 30-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at SuperSport United.

Lebese admits it has been more difficult to find a club after leaving Sundowns than he had anticipated.

“No one calls, and what I’ve heard, I think people have this illusion that I’m asking for big money… I don’t know about that,” said Lebese in an interview on Marawa TV.

“And really, since being free, from my side I thought it was going to be not as hard as it is right now to find myself on the field again.

“Because now I’m sitting at home and I’m training and I’m hoping and I’m hoping, but nothing’s coming and I’m like ‘okay, how bad this could be’.”

And Lebese’s hopes of joining SuperSport permanently have been dashed for the time being with Matsatsantsa mentor Kaitano Tembo having deemed the player surplus to requirements.

“Well, I think for now we are focusing on the players we have, I think we’ve got enough numbers in that position,” Tembo told KickOff.

“We’ve got [Aubrey] Modiba, [Kudakwashe] Mahachi, [Thabo] Qalinge and [Evans] Rusike so we are a bit loaded in that department for now, so we will only focus on what we have at the moment.”
