Kolo Muani boycotts Eintracht Frankfurt training in bid to force Paris Saint-Germain move

Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Randall Kolo Muani boycotted training on Wednesday in a bid to force a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The transfer window closes on Thursday midnight and Muani has just over 24 hours for his wish to be granted.

A statement from the Bundesliga side confirmed Muani’s absence from training and the reason for it.

“The striker informed Eintracht’s sporting management today that he will not take part in today’s final training session before the play-off game against Sofia on Thursday,” it read.

“Striker Randal Kolo Muani informed Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting management today that he will not take part in today’s final training session before the play-off qualifier against PFC Levski Sofia on Thursday at 8.30 p.m. The reason he gave for his absence was his intention to move to another club before the transfer period that ends on Friday evening.”

Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche said: “We got to know Randal differently and know his actual character. A lot is currently pouring down on him and this is the result of this reaction, which is wrong, which we have made clear to him and those around him and all the effects. We will play the game against Levski Sofia without him. It is clear to us: behavior has no influence on transfer activities. The important thing now is the important game against Sofia. This is a top priority and of great importance for the club. Our team is of high quality and they are fully focused on tomorrow’s game.”
