Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza is hoping Alfred Ndengane and Brilliant Khuzwayo will make a positive impact at the club during the second half of the season.
Ndengane will finally be available to play for the Buccaneers when the transfer window re-opens in January, having terminated his contract with Bloemfontein Celtic by mutual consent in October.
Khuzwayo has yet to feature for Pirates since leaving Kaizer Chiefs for their arch-rivals during the previous transfer window, with the goalkeeper recovering from an ankle injury he sustained in pre-season.
Milutin Sredojevic’s side will go into the festive break second in the Premiership standings after winning seven of their opening 15 matches, while they narrowly missed out on a first trophy for the campaign when they lost to Baroka on penalties in the Telkom Knockout final earlier this month.
Bucs will compete in the CAF Champions League group stages if they beat African Stars in Namibia on Saturday, and new blood could boost their domestic and continental challenges in the New Year.
But Khoza hinted at a quiet January for the Soweto giants after being asked whether they would enter the transfer market.
“We signed Ndengane and he hasn’t played,” the ‘Iron Duke‘ told IOL. “He will get his chance and see what he can offer.
“Khuzwayo will be also ready. We need him in that position (goalkeeper). It will be good to have those players.”
