Willard Katsande admits he's excited to see Khama Billiat make a return to the Zimbabwe Premier League.

Willard Katsande admits he’s excited to see Khama Billiat make a return to the Zimbabwe Premier League.

Both players made a name for themselves in Zimbabwe before securing moves to South Africa and the Premier Soccer League.

While retired Katsande turned out for Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs before hanging his boots while with Sekhukhune United, Billiat played for Ajax, Mamelodi Sundowns and Chiefs.

The 33-year-old attacker was left without a club after leaving Amakhosi at the end of last season, but has now signed a one-year deal with Zimbabwe Premier League side Yadah FC.

Katsande told FARPost: “He is like Ronaldo moving from Europe to Asia. So he is going to boost every team in the League.

“I am sure every player in the PSL [in Zimbabwe] can’t wait to start the season and there is a reason why they need to play well. There is a reason why they have to play against Yadah.”

Katsande added: “The team he is going to, I know the owner is a very good friend of mine and I know him personally. So in terms of professionalism, he is in a good space where he just needs to focus on football.

“It is a good decision for him to go there to revive his career, especially in this difficult moment.

“We know that he didn’t play for close to a year.

“So he needs space where he is going to be comfortable to try to come up again. He just needs a different environment whereby he kicks start again. He is a fragile boy, I know him very well so I think it was a good move for him.”
