Kgaogelo Sekgota hopeful of returning to bafana bafana

Kgaogelo Sekgota admits he still holds out hope of making a return to the Bafana Bafana set-up.

The 27-year-old former Vitoria Setubal, Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch winger has joined newly promoted Magesi for the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

He has four South Africa caps, with his last Bafana appearance an international friendly against Angola in November 2022.

Speaking to iDiski Times, the player explained: “Obviously you’ll never give up if you are South African to represent South Africa.

“It will happen with God’s will, hard work, and with focus. So, I’m here at home, feeling fresh, looking forward to the new season.

“I have been there [national team]. I mean why can’t I do it again? I’m here to play football and the results of football always speak for themselves.”

Magesi kick off their new campaign against Sekhukhune United on September 14.
