Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly turned their attention to AmaZulu‘s Riaan Hanamub as their pursuit of Stellenbosch FC‘s Fawaz Basadien hits a roadblock.
Despite keen interest in the Bafana Bafana defender, Chiefs have accepted that a deal with Stellenbosch is unlikely to materialize this transfer window. The Glamour Boys have now set their sights on Hanamub, a Namibian international who has impressed at AmaZulu.
With Hanamub reportedly in the final year of his contract with Usuthu, Chiefs are optimistic about securing his services. The Soweto giants have previously shown interest in the left-back, who was previously linked with their cross-city rivals Orlando Pirates last year.
The 26-year-old has been a standout performer for AmaZulu since joining from Chippa United in 2022. His impressive form extended to the national team, where he helped Namibia qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, where they reached the last 16 of the competition.
Chiefs’ pursuit of Basadien has been met with resistance from Stellenbosch, prompting the club to explore alternative options.
