KAIZER CHIEFS’ NEO BOHLOKO NAMED DStv DISKI CHALLENGE PLAYER OF THE SEASON

Kaizer Chiefs young star Neo Bohloko has scooped the club’s DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season award.

The 15-year-old enjoyed an exceptional season with the reserve side, netting 13 goals as his team ended their campaign in fifth place.

Bohloko also won the club’s Top Goal Scorer award as Takalani Mazhamba claimed Goalkeeper of the Year, and Xolani Cossa was voted Players’ player of the Year.

Reflecting on Bohloko’s acheivement, Amakhosi DDC coach Vela Khumalo told the club’s website: “It was expected. Having said that, he has set records at only 15 years of age, which is remarkable.

“I am delighted for him and I think it is a good choice by the people who voted for him. One day we will see big things coming from him.”

Khumalo added that he is delighted to feed players into the senior team.

“Once again, I’m very happy to have two of our players moving up,” he expained.

“That makes six players in three years, which indicates that we are doing something right in the development academy.

“We are highly motivated to produce even more next season.”
