Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has maintained a professional outlook despite his limited playing time this season.
The 27-year-old centre-back, who made 30 appearances for TS Galaxy last season, has struggled to secure a starting role at Chiefs, featuring just twice across all competitions this term.
Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has so far favoured the defensive pairing of Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley.
“For me, it’s just about staying professional, staying ready, and continuing to work hard,” Msimango explained.
“Football has its phases, sometimes you experience setbacks on a personal level, and this is one of those times for me.”
Despite his challenges, Msimango stressed the importance of preparation and resilience, adding, “I focus on staying fit, eating healthy, sleeping well, and keeping myself ready. When the opportunity comes, I’ll give my best.”
Chiefs, currently navigating a crucial phase of their season, are set to face Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon (15h30).
Msimango will be hoping to reclaim his spot in the starting XI as Chiefs aim to solidify their defensive line against a resilient opponent.
While his immediate future on the pitch remains uncertain, Msimango’s determined approach reflects a player prepared to seize his chance when it arrives.
