Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has addressed supporters after their disappointing 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United in the Betway Premiership on Saturday.
The loss, which marked the team’s second setback of the league season, left many fans disheartened as they watched Tashreeq Morris score the only goal just before half-time at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Despite controlling possession for much of the match, Chiefs failed to convert their chances, disappointing the Khosi Nation who hoped for a strong title challenge this season.
In the aftermath, Nabi stressed the importance of fan support during difficult times.
“We understand the significance of our fans; there is no Kaizer Chiefs without them,” he stated, reflecting on the team’s struggle to deliver results.
He also urged fans to remain patient as the team builds towards success: “This project is a process, and while we enjoyed a big win last week, we know there will be ups and downs.”
Nabi reassured supporters that the players would work tirelessly to earn their respect and trust.
Looking ahead, the Chiefs have a quick turnaround with a match against Magesi FC on Wednesday, and Nabi urged fans to rally behind the team.
“This league is a marathon. We still have 24 matches to play, and every point counts,” he concluded. The match at Peter Mokaba Stadium is set for 19h30.
