Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze reflects on ‘unfortunate’ situation following Glody Lilepo red

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze admits it is unfortunate that his side will be without Glody Lilepo for the final Betway Premiership clash of their season.

Lilepo was dismissed with a second yellow card in the 1-0 league win over AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, where he scored the winning goal on 67 minutes.

Having picked up a yellow card earlier in the game, Lilepo was handed his marching orders for removing his shirt in celebration of his strike.

The result saw third-placed Amakhosi open up a 10-point gap between them and fourth place, currently occupied by AmaZulu.

They play their final clash of the season against relegation-threatened Chippa United at the FNB Stadium this coming weekend.

Speaking after the match, Kaze said on SuperSport: “We need to be careful because he was already booked and he takes his shirt off as he celebrates.

“Which means that we’re going to miss him in the last game. It’s an unfortunate situation.

“Sometimes you also understand the player, the passion and relief for scoring, but it’s good that we have three points.

“But in future we need to be careful about things like that.”
