According to various sources Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that the club and Stuart Baxter have parted ways, for a second time, after a disappointing season slowly comes to an end.
Arthur Zwane and Dillon Shepard are set to see out the remainder of the season.
The Englishman was in the Naturena driver’s seat from 2012 to 2015 during his first stint. It was a very successful time for the club, having won several trophies under his tutelage. Two league titles in 2012/2013 and 2014/2015, a Nedbank Cup victory in 2012/2013, and an MTN8 triumph during the 2014/15 season.
In the announcement of Baxter, for the second time, Chairman Kaizer Motaung stated, “We believe we are on track with the changes we have made so far in the coaching and technical department after a challenging season domestically… After extensive reviews and consultations, we decided to appoint Stuart because we believe he is one coach who understands our philosophy and culture. We know his work ethic and believe he will work with the team we have at the moment while trying to rebuild and ensure we have a formidable side for the new season.”

Stuart Baxter returned to Kaizer Chiefs in June of 2021 on a two-year deal with the option to extend as the coach of Amakhosi. His return to Chiefs was welcoming as his departure from the first stint was on good terms and remained a well-liked figure by the Amakhosi faithful. Now, after a disappointing season and constant calling for ‘his head’, the pressure from inconsistent results, and more evidently, a return of the disgruntled fans, the search for a new manager to take Kaizer Chiefs back to former glory is on once again.
