Kaizer Chiefs: Amakhosi Coach Remains Optimistic Despite Setback

Reaction: Nabi praises Chiefs as Amakhosi celebrates 55 years with win

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi remains unfazed by his side’s recent inconsistencies, despite a disappointing 2-0 loss to Polokwane City.

Goals from Oswin Appollis and Mokibelo Ramabu sealed the victory for Polokwane at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, leaving Chiefs in a frustrating position. However, Nabi is focused on maintaining a positive outlook and believes in the long-term direction of the club.

“I don’t want to kill the morale of my players today,” Nabi told SuperSport TV after the match.

“I want to support them. I want to continue to work seriously and this is football. I don’t want my club to go and cry. I have confidence in my players, I have confidence in the future. We are in the right direction.

“We are clear, we are confident in my staff and myself. Don’t worry Kaizer Chiefs is coming back, it is [in] the right direction,” added the Tunisian tactician.

Chiefs are currently in the bottom half of the league, a whopping ten points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. The road to recovery will be challenging, but Nabi is determined to turn things around.

Their next league match is against TS Galaxy on December 16 at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.
