Kagisho Dikgacoi confirms Golden Arrows exit after contract expiry

Dikgacoi, who worked alongside head coach Manqoba Mngqithi and fellow assistant Musa Bilankulu, revealed that the club opted not to renew his deal, bringing his stint with Abafana Bes’thende to a close.

His exit follows the recent departure of Mngqithi, marking the end of an era for the club’s technical team after a campaign that saw Golden Arrows secure a sixth-place finish in the Betway Premiership.

Reflecting on his time at the Durban-based outfit, Dikgacoi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to further his coaching development.

“My contract came to an end and the club decided not to extend it. I am grateful for the opportunity that Golden Arrows gave me because it allowed me to continue developing and learning as a coach,” Dikgacoi told Soccer Laduma.

The former midfielder also thanked the club and its supporters while wishing the team success in the future.

“I can only wish the team all the best going forward. I hope the club continues to grow and achieve even greater things in the future,” he said.

For now, Dikgacoi is taking time to reflect on the next phase of his career.

“At the moment I am taking a short break, watching football and spending time reflecting. If something comes up in the future, people will know, but right now I’m just taking things one step at a time,” he added.

Having gained valuable experience as part of Mngqithi’s coaching staff, the highly respected former South African international is expected to remain a sought-after figure within local football circles as he weighs up his next opportunity.
