Orlando Pirates head coach, Jose Riveiro, shared a special message for Relebohile Mofokeng’s 20th birthday following their 2-0 win against SuperSport United on Wednesday evening at Orlando Stadium.
The 20-year-old played a total of 38 matches in all competitions in his full debut season. His most memorable moments were when he scored a last-minute winner for his side against Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the Nedbank Cup as well as his national team debut, coming in as a substitute against Zimbabwe on 11 June 2024.
Riveiro hailed the left winger for his improvement and advised him to continue improving as time is still on his side.
“It’s difficult to know the age of Rele when you see him on the field,” said Riveiro during his post-match interview.
“It’s just a number, he needs to, like Mohau (Nkotha) he needs to continue improving because he still has a lot of space to become a better football player. So the future belongs to him,” the coach concluded.
Mofokeng, affectionately known as “Captain Yama 2000,” continues to impress. He has played a total of 12 matches this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists in all competitions.
