We’re confident in our Serie A picks this weekend with a 13/1 treble looking well worth a punt! |
The Serie A will never seize to amaze me with its style, grace and passionate football fans. Just when I thought Juventus were running away with the league (yet again), Genoa outshone the defending champions 3-1, giving the teams below the Old Lady a fighting chance. This week, Juve will be eager to return to winning ways but must do it against the league’s in-form team – Atalanta. There are plenty of mouth-watering matches on show in gameweek 15, including a mammoth clash between fierce rivals Lazio and Roma. So, stay tuned for all the best bets and tips in this week’s Serie A edition.
Friday 2 December
17/20 Napoli | Draw 11/4 | Inter Milan 28/10 (21:45)
Napoli have struggled to find the form that saw them push Juventus all the way last season. Gli Azzurri have managed just win from their last four games, playing to a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Sassuolo last time out. Inter Milan are four points off Napoli and just one place below in the standings, occupying eighth place. After ousting Fiorentina 4-2 at the San Siro Stadium on Monday night, the Nerazzurri will have a bit of confidence and momentum going into this encounter. Back Inter Milan to come away with maximum points.
Saturday 3 December
9/20 Juventus | 7/2 | Atalanta 6/1 (21:45)
Saturday’s only Serie A encounter pits the table-toppers up against the league’s in-form team. Juventus were absolutely stunned last time out, going down 3-1 against a Genoa side undeniably superior on the day, ending the Old Lady’s winning run of four consecutive matches. Atalanta come into this one firing on all cylinders as they remain unbeaten in their last nine matches with eight victories, including six on the spin. However, Juve have won the last 12 meetings against them, so I expect a tight affair. Back Under 2.5 Goals at even money.
Sunday 4 December
3/10 AC Milan | 17/4 | Crotone 17/2 (13:30)
AC Milan will take on Crotone in a lunch-time clash on Sunday afternoon. The host have been in top form with eight wins from their last 11 games. The Rossoneri were excellent last weekend, annihilating Empoli 4-1 in their own backyard. Relegation-bound Crotone will be desperate to halt the juggernaut that is AC Milan. The newcomers lie 19th on the table with a horrendous travelling record as they remain without a victory on the road, which include six defeats from seven matches, scoring four goals and conceding 15 times. Get on the Home Win to Nil market at 9/10.
37/20 Lazio | 24/10 | Roma 14/10 (16:00)
In what promises to be the match of the weekend, city rivals Lazio and Roma will go toe-to-toe. The Biancocelesti are undefeated in their last eight matches, bagging five wins in the process. They were made to work for their 1-0 victory away to bottom-dwellers Palermo last Sunday and will look to display another spirited performance in front of their besotted fans. Title-chasers Roma would have been ecstatic to capitalize on Juventus’ surprise defeat, edging Pescara 3-2 in a five-goal thriller. The Giallorossi have been outstanding with nine wins from their last 12 matches and will be eager to build on that. Roma are unbeaten against Lazio in the last six meetings, but I prefer the Both Teams to Score market at 11/20 – as you know, these games tend to be filled with end-to-end action.
14/10 Pescara | 24/10 | Cagliari 19/10 (16:00)
Pescara and Cagliari will lock horns in one of the least eye-catching Serie A contests this weekend. Nonetheless, there is still an opportunity to make money off this matchup, and I intend on giving you all the information needed to do so. Pescara have been dreadful in recent weeks as they remain without a victory in 12 matches with nine defeats, including six on the trot. Cagliari have travelled dismally with six defeats from seven games, scoring six goals and conceding 20 times. A poor-quality football match is expected with Under 2.5 Goals the tip at 21/20.
37/20 Sampdoria | 9/4 | Torino 29/20 (16:00)
Sampdoria have been impressive on their ground this season, claiming four wins from six matches thus far, including three in a row. However, Torino have been buzzing with three consecutive wins and will be determined to maintain that form. I’m leaning towards a draw here and looking at head-to-head stats, the sides have shared the spoils on three of the last four occasions. The draw is on the cards.
9/10 Sassuolo | 47/20 | Empoli 33/10 (16:00)
Next up, Sassuolo will take on Empoli at the Stadio Citta del Tricolore. The home side are without a win in their last six matches with four defeats, whilst Empoli have been poor of late with back-to-back defeats, scoring just once and conceding eight times. Sassuolo were impressive last time out as they worked tirelessly to claim a point at Napoli on Monday night. They also have an excellent record against their opponents, winning five of the last six meetings at home against Empoli. The home win should be backed.
3/10 Fiorentina | 9/2 | Palermo 8/1 (21:45)
Last time out Fiorentina fell to a 4-2 defeat away to Inter Milan, ending a run of six matches without a loss. The Viola will return to their fortress where they remain unbeaten with two wins and four draws from six games. Bottom-of-the-log Palermo come to town in diabolical form, suffering seven consecutive defeats. They showed a good account of themselves last time out against Lazio but Fiorentina should do enough to edge the win. The home win at 3/10 is short, so for more value I would suggest getting on the Winning Margins market – Fiorentina by one goal at 28/10.
Monday 5 December
31/20 Chievo | 21/10 | Genoa 19/10 (20:00)
Chievo and Genoa will lock horns in a Monday night battle. The home side have managed just one victory from their last seven matches, going down three times in their last four games. Genoa on the other hand, have lost four of their six travels, suffering three losses on the spin. It’s a tough one to call, but I think both sides will feel there is an opportunity to bag maximum points. Four of the last six meetings has seen both sides find the back of the net – I suggest you follow the trend at even money.
1/1 Udinese | 23/10 | Bologna 29/10 (22:00)
In the final Serie A duel of gameweek 15, Udinese will square off against Bologna. Just one point separates these sides as they lie 14th and 15th on the standings respectively. Udinese have been poor of late with back-to-back losses, whilst Bologna are without a win on the road. The last eight meetings between Udinese and Bologna at the Dacia Arena have seen Under 2.5 Goals. I don’t see any reason why that won’t follow suit – get on at 13/20!
TREBLE @ 13/1
Inter Milan Win 29/10
AC Milan Win To Nil 9/10
Sassuolo Win 9/10
