The final gameweek of the year sees Juventus and Roma lock horns in a title-defining matchup.

Last week’s selected Italian Serie A treble won at a valuable 43/10 and I’m still feeling lucky enough to keep the ball rolling. A top of the table clash is what’s in store for round 17 as Juventus and Roma square off in what promises to be a cracking contest! Not much has changed in regards to the relegation-dwellers with Crotone, Pescara and Palermo occupying the bottom three. Plenty of goals are expected this weekend, as well as another tasty looking treble. Find out below what’s worth backing!

Saturday 17 December

21/20 Empoli | Draw 47/20 | Cagliari 26/10 (16:00)

Empoli and Cagliari will kick-start round 17 at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Saturday afternoon. The Azzurri have been poor on their ground with just one victory from eight games, scoring three goals and conceding 15 times. Cagliari have travelled dismally with six losses from eight matches, scoring seven goals and conceding 21 times. An opened affair is on the cards with a goal-fest expected. Both teams have struggled defensively, so get on the Totals market – Over 2.5 Goals at 17/20.

19/20 AC Milan | 24/10 | Atalanta 3/1 (19:00)

AC Milan’s five match unbeaten streak came to an end on Monday even after Roma claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Rossoneri. Nonetheless, Milan have won six of their eight home games and will be eager to return to winning ways. Atalanta have been poor of late with back-to-back defeats, scoring twice and conceding six goals in the process. The home win is the way to go.

8/10 Juventus | 26/10 | Roma 33/10 (21:45)

Defending champions Juventus are the gift that keep on giving. The Old Lady have won 13 of the 16 matches, including a 100% win-record on home soil, scoring 23 goals and conceding just six times in that space. This week they will face a stern test in the form of title-rivals Roma. The Giallorossi have been outstanding with 11 wins from 16 matches, but have a poor record away to Juve, losing the last six meetings, scoring just three times and conceding 18 goals. The Old Lady are tipped to stretch their lead at the top of the table with a vital victory.

Sunday 18 December

22/10 Sassuolo | 47/20 | Inter Milan 5/4 (21:45)

Sassuolo have been terrible in recent weeks with five defeats from their last seven matches. They have lacked consistency at home, winning four times and suffering three defeats and as a result lie 15th on the standings. Inter Milan have struggled to maintain winning form, with their poor record on their travels letting them down. Nonetheless, the last six meetings between the sides there has been a total of 24 goals scored – that’s an average of four goals a game.Get on the Additional Totals market – Over 3.5 Goals at a valuable 37/20!

11/20 Napoli | 33/10 | Torino 9/2 (16:00)

Napoli were outstanding last time out as they thrashed Cagliari 5-0 away from home. The victory stretched their unbeaten run to five matches, including two wins on the bounce, scoring eight goals without conceding. Torino have been poor in recent weeks, suffering back-to-back defeats, scoring only once and conceding five times. Napoli have won six of the last seven meetings against Torino and at 11/20 are certainly one of the best bets of the weekend; get on!

5/4 Chievo | 22/10 | Sampdoria 23/10 (16:00)

Chievo have been inconsistent this season, but were impressive at the weekend, clinching a 2-0 victory away to Palermo. Sampdoria have travelled poorly with just one win from eight games on the road. However, the away team have found the back of the net in their last 12 matches.Take Both Teams to Score at 17/20, it’s the safest way to go here.

29/20 Pescara | 43/20 | Bologna 2/1 (16:00)

Pescara have been dreadful with just one win from 16 matches and are placed second from bottom on the table. They are winless in their last 15 games in all competitions, suffering 11 defeats. Biancazzurri are without a win at home, scoring five goals and conceding 13 times. Bologna have been poor in recent weeks with four losses from their last six games. They are yet to win a match on the road, scoring five goals and conceding 15 times. However, the Rossoblu are unbeaten against Pescara in the last 10 meetings, winning five times. Back Bologna on the win/draw Double Chance at 5/10.

6/10 Udinese | 28/10| Crotone 9/2 (16:00)

Udinese will take on a Crotone side who are fighting for their extinction in the top flight. The home side have been impressive of late with consecutive victories and will be determined to build on that on Sunday afternoon. The newcomers claimed only their second win of the season last time out, edging Pescara 2-1 on home soil. Their away record has been atrocious, as they remain without a win on the road, including seven losses from eight matches, scoring five goals and conceding 17 times. Udinese are tipped on the Matchbet & Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 37/20.

11/20 Genoa | 3/1 | Palermo 47/10 (21:45)

At the time of writing, Genoa are yet to face Fiorentina at home. The Rossoblu are unbeaten on their turf, scoring 11 goals and conceding just four times. Their opponents, Palermo, are rooted to the bottom of the standings with a single victory after 16 matches, including 12 defeats. As tempted as I am to back the home win, it’s not so simple given Genoa have a match scheduled for Thursday evening. With that being said, I feel as though the encounter against Fiorentina might just take a bit of energy out of Genoa, so I’m expecting a dull encounter.Under 2.5 Goals is the way to go at 17/20.

1/1 Lazio | 5/2 | Fiorentina 11/4 (21:45)

The Stadio Olimpico will be rocking on Sunday evening as Lazio gear up for a clash against Fiorentina. The Biancocelesti have won five of their last seven matches and have been strong on their ground. Fiorentina have won four of their last six meetings and will be determined to maintain that form. The last three meetings between these sides have seen 14 goals. An end-to-end game of attacking football is expected, with Over 2.5 Goals looking a tasty bet.
