Italian Serie A: Gameweek 27 Preview

Italian Serie A: Gameweek 17 Preview

Crazier things have happened but at this point, I think we can all agree that the race for the all-important Scudetto is done and dusted. Juventus now have a 16-point lead at the summit following their 2-1 victory over second-placed Napoli. Nothing much has changed on the opposite end of the standings with Bologna, Frosinone and Chievo occupying the drop zone. The best thing to do at this point is take it one round at a time and hopefully catch a few multiples.

Friday 8 March

Juventus 3/10

Draw 17/4

Udinese 17/2

(21:30)

The Old Lady remain unbeaten after 26 matches with 23 victories and three draws, scoring 55 goals and conceding just 16 times. Udinese have impressed of late with back-to-back home wins over Chievo (1-0) and Bologna (2-1). However, I doubt that will go a long way against the runaway-leaders who are capable of slaying the very best in-form teams. Back Juventus on the (-1) Handicap at 17/20.

Parma 7/4

Draw 43/20

Genoa 33/20

(19:00)

Parma are without a win in their last six matches, including four defeats. They have lost their last four home games, scoring just twice and conceding 10 times. However, they are off the back of an impressive 3-3 draw away to Empoli and will look to build on that. Genoa are unbeaten in their last six matches but four of those ended in draws and that included back-to-back dour goalless stalemates against bottom of the log Chievo and 19th-placed Frosinone. With that being said, I’m backing Parma to end their winless run and capitalize on home advantage.

Chievo 5/1

Draw 29/10

AC Milan 11/20

(21:30)

Relegation-bound Chievo have been horrendous at the foot of the table with just one win from 26 matches, scoring 19 goals and conceding 51 times. AC Milan are unbeaten in their last nine league games, including four wins on the spin. The Rossoneri have won the last five meetings against Chievo and will look to build on that. The away win is on the cards.

Bologna 1/1

Draw 9/4

Cagliari 29/10

(13:30)

Relegation-threatened Bologna have been dismal in recent weeks with three consecutive defeats. Cagliari are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Inter Milan but have lost their last five travels, scoring once and conceding 12 times. This one is expected to come down to the wire with the hosts struggling to keep their head above water and Cagliari’s away form is simply awful. I’m going with a draw but the Correct Score – 1-1 – market offers the value I’m looking for at 5/1!

Inter Milan 4/10

Draw 7/2

SPAL 7/1

(16:00)

Inter Milan have been disappointing to say the least. They suffered a 2-1 defeat at Cagliari last time out and will be looking to get back to winning ways. SPAL are without a win in their last five games but found the back of the net in four of those. Inter have been unorganized defensively and SPAL are looking very much capable of banging in a goal or two. Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 21/20.

Frosinone 7/2

Draw 47/20

Torino 17/20

(16:00)

Frosinone are placed second from bottom on the standings with just three wins from 26 matches. Torino have been excellent in recent weeks and remain undefeated in their last six games, scoring seven goals without shipping any. The reverse tie ended in a five-goal thriller with Torino bagging maximum points in a 3-2 victory. Back the Maroons to pull off the double with another narrow victory.

Sampdoria 47/20

Draw 51/20

Atalanta 11/10

(16:00)

Sampdoria have found some decent form of late with two wins on the bounce and just for stats-sake, they have won five of their last six home games. Atalanta, on the other hand, have been inconsistent in recent weeks. Just two points separate their teams and the hosts will be looking at this as an opportunity to leap-frog La Dea. Goals look a certainty here and with that being said, I’m climbing on the Over 2.5 Goals market at 7/10.

Sassuolo 9/2

Draw 3/1

Napoli 6/10

(19:00)

Sassuolo are winless in their last five matches, including three losses. However, they showed some steel against AC Milan last time out despite going down 1-0 at the San Siro. Napoli’s title-challenge is just about over after Juventus edged them 2-1 at home last time out. It might have been a demoralizing win but the Azzurri are a team that will keep fighting until the end. Napoli are tipped on the Matchbet & Both Teams to Score – Napoli + Yes – at 2/1.

Fiorentina 37/20

Draw 47/20

Lazio 29/20

(21:30)

Fiorentina have managed just one win from their last five matches, while Lazio have won three of their last four matches, including a 3-0 victory over city-rivals Roma last time out. The last four meetings at the Artemio Franchi Stadium have produced a total of 18 goals at an average of 4.5 per game. Get on the Over 3.5 Goals market at 39/20.

Monday 11 March

Roma 5/10

Draw 7/2

Empoli 47/10

(21:30)

The final match of the round pits Roma up against Empoli. The hosts ended a three-game winning streak last weekend after Lazio whipped them 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico. Empoli have the worst away record in the league as they remain winless on the road, scoring 11 and conceding 28 goals. With that being said, the home win looks a solid bet to add to all multiples but I’m looking for more value. The Roma Half-time/Full-time win looks well worth a punt at 23/20.

TREBLE @ 16/1

Parma Win 7/4

Fiorentina vs Lazio Over 3.5 Goals 39/20

Roma HT-FT Win 23/20
