Italian Serie A: Gameweek 24 Preview

Cristiano Ronaldo celebrating a goal for Juventus

The Serie A is 23 rounds in and Juventus remain unbeaten at the summit, 11 points clear of second-placed Napoli. It was also a good weekend on the tipping front with the featured treble winning at 5/2! Let’s see if we can build on that.

Friday 15 February

Juventus 1/8

Draw 15/2

Frosinone 23/1

(21:30)

The runaway leaders have won 10 of their 12 games at home, scoring 28 goals and conceded just seven times. Frosinone are second from bottom on the standings, but to their credit, they have won back-to-back games on the road, scoring five goals without shipping any. However, the Old Lady are a different beast and should dominate proceedings from the get-go. With that being said, I’m putting my money on the First Goal Interval 15 Min – 1-15 – market at 7/4!

Saturday 16 February

Cagliari 21/20

Draw 9/4

Parma 11/4

(19:00)

Cagliari have been dreadful in recent weeks with three consecutive defeats, conceding seven goals without finding the back of the net. Parma are undefeated in their last three away games, including an impressive 3-3 draw at Juventus. The Crusaders won the reverse leg 2-0 and offer good value to complete the double over Cagliari. Back Parma to bag maximum points.

Atalanta 1/1

Draw 49/20

AC Milan 26/10

(21:30)

Atalanta are unbeaten in their last six matches with four wins in the process. AC Milan are also undefeated in their last six games but managing three wins, one less than La Dea. I’m expecting an evenly contested match that can go either way. Three of the last four meetings between these sides have seen both sides find the back of the net. Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 7/10.

Sunday 17 February

SPAL 5/2

Draw 43/20

Fiorentina 12/10

(13:30)

SPAL are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 defeat away to Atalanta and have drawn their last five games at home. Fiorentina are unbeaten in their last five matches but four of those ended in stalemates. With both teams drawing so many games, it almost gives you a sense that their playing styles are dour and ineffective. Don’t be surprised if this ends in another draw. However, I’m not expecting many goals so I’m taking Both Halves Under 1.5 Goals at even money.

Genoa 51/20

Draw 49/20

Lazio 21/20

(16:00)

Genoa have been dismal in recent weeks with just two wins from eight matches. Lazio have been impressive of late with two wins on the bounce and are expected two make it three in a row. The last six meetings between these teams have produced a total of 27 goals at an average of 4.5 per game. That’s enough for me to climb on to the exotic markets and back Over 2.5 Goals at 15/20! Get on!

Udinese 17/20

Draw 47/20

Chievo 7/2

(16:00)

Udinese have been terrible in recent weeks with three losses from their last four matches. Chievo are yet to win a match on the road, scoring just eight goals and conceding 23 times. The hosts have struggled on their turf this season so I highly doubt we will be treated to an action-packed contest. Nonetheless, there is still an opportunity to make some money off this matchup. The Total – Under 2.5 Goals – market looks well worth a punt at 13/20.

Empoli 33/20

Draw 47/20

Sassuolo 16/10

(16:00)

Empoli are without a victory in their last eight matches, including six defeats. They have struggled to score goals this season and their backline leaves a lot to be desired. Sassuolo have been nowhere near their best but if they get their tactics right, they could just take all three points here. They have won the last four meetings against Empoli, scoring 12 goals and conceding just three times. The away win is on the cards.

Inter Milan 5/10

Draw 32/10

Sampdoria 52/10

(19:00)

Inter Milan returned to winning ways last time out with a 1-0 win at Parma following two defeats on the bounce. Sampdoria have been poor of late with consecutive defeats, conceding four goals without scoring any. However, the Nerazzurri have been inconsistent to say the least and La Samp should at least find the back of the net. Both Teams to Score – Yes – is the way to go at 9/10.

Napoli 9/20

Draw 34/10

Torino 6/1

(21:30)

Napoli have the best home record in the league and will be looking to continue their dominance at the San Paolo Stadium. Carlo Ancelotti’s team have won 10 of their 12 games on home soil, scoring 28 goals and conceding just seven times. Torino have been in top form with three wins on the spin and will be hoping to get a positive result here. I’m expecting an end-to-end game of football with both teams to come out firing on all cylinders! This is my value bet for the weekend. Take Both Teams to Score First Half & Second Half – Yes / Yes – at a colossal 15/1!

Monday 18 February

Roma 9/20

Draw 36/10

Bologna

(21:30)

Roma are unbeaten in their last six matches, including four victories. Bologna have registered just three wins from 23 games, scoring just 18 goals. They played to a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Genoa last time out and will need to be far better here if they are to get a result. The Giallorossi are coming off a 3-0 win away to Chievo and look likely to build on that. Roma are tipped on the (-1) Handicap at 11/10.
