Gameweek 1 in Italy didn’t disappoint as 36 goals were scored across all 10 games. With another exciting weekend of fixtures scheduled, it really promises to be another humdinger. Let’s get straight into it!
Friday 27 August
Udinese 13/20
Draw 29/10
Venezia 38/10
(18:30)
Udinese put up a gallant second half performance against Juventus, coming back from two goals down to draw 2-2 and a repeat of that second half performance should see them being hard to beat here. Venezia’s first showing in the top slight saw them travel to Napoli and of course, no one expected them to come away with anything there, but it’s games like these they’d be expected to earn points and they’ll be up for a fight. However, Udinese will be coming into this with momentum and that should see them get the job done here. Back the hosts!
Hellas Verona 42/10
Draw 29/10
Inter Milan 11/20
(20:45)
Hellas Verona were involved in a five-goal thriller in their last encounter coming away empty-handed after a 3-2 loss. On the balance of play their competitors Sassuolo always had the better of exchanges. They face an Inter Milan who looked to have picked up where they left of last season, winning 4-0 in their first encounter. Select Inter for the win.
Saturday 28 August
Lazio 4/10
Draw 39/10
Spezia 6/1
(18:30)
Lazio were impressive in their first encounter against Empoli walking away with maximum points after a satisfying 3-0 result. They face a Spezia side who threw away a two-goal lead in their last encounter drawing 2-2 against Cagliari. Lazio’s quality, mixed with the support that they’re guaranteed to receive should see them run out comfortable winners here. Add Lazio to all multiples.
Atalanta 3/10
Draw 46/10
Bologna 68/10
(18:30)
Atalanta scored a last gasp winner against Torino to get themselves off to the best possible start. They face a Bologna side that fought hard to get three points against Salernitana, winning 3-2. Bologna however, face a different task today and being away from home, it should be even more daunting. Atalanta’s quality should easily win this quite comfortably with their home support behind them.
Fiorentina 12/10
Draw 23/10
Torino 22/10
(20:45)
Fiorentina were brushed aside in Rome last week coming away 3-1 losers, Viola now hosts a Torino side who also tasted defeat in their opening game against Atalanta. With both teams wanting to fix their opening day losses, they will be trying hard to win this, making the result hard to call here. For that reason, I suggest selecting the Total Goals market and backing Over 2.5 Goals at 8/10.
Juventus 1/5
Draw 54/10
Empoli 9/1
(20:45)
Juventus were denied a last gasp winner against Empoli by a few centimeters as Cristiano Ronaldo’s was ruled offside after his header flew into the back of the net. They face an Empoli side who were disappointing in their first encounter and for this trip to Turin, it doesn’t look like it will get any brighter. Juventus should win this quite comfortable, however, I suggest taking the Bianconeri to win on the (-2) Handicap at 15/10.
Sunday 29 August
Sassuolo 1/1
Draw 27/10
Sampdoria 24/10
(18:30)
Sassuolo won a hard-fought contest in their first game running out 3-2 winners against Hellas Verona, the Black and Greens face a Sampdoria side who lost 1-0 to AC Milan on the opening day. These teams seem evenly matched, it really does promise to be a tight contest. Hence the reason, I am tipping the Half-Time Draw at 13/10.
Genoa 46/10
Draw 7/2
Napoli 5/10
(18:30)
Genoa were dismantled 4-0 in their first encounter losing to defending-champions Inter Milan, they face a Napoli team who put on a professional performance against Venezia in their first encounter walking away comfortable 2-0 winners. Genoa will be trying hard to remain resolute in this encounter and should make it difficult for Napoli to break them down, however, Napoli have too much class and it should see them eventually break Genoa’s resolve and win this contest. Add Napoli to all multiples.
AC Milan 9/20
Draw 36/10
Cagliari 52/10
(20:45)
AC Milan claimed maximum points in their opening game of the season, beating Sampodoria 1-0, they face Cagliari at the San Siro and they should really be able to win this quite comfortable. Cagliari came from behind to draw 2-2 against Spezia but find themselves much more quality this time. AC Milan is a banker.
Salernitana 4/1
Draw 32/10
Roma 6/10
(20:45)
Salernitana were welcomed to the top-flight by Bologna, playing out to a five-goal thriller but found themselves on the losing side. The hosts now face a different type of opposition in the form of Roma. Roma were comfortable winners in their first game beating Fiorentina 3-1 and bringing that same form to this contest should see them run out comfortable winners. Back Jose Mourinho’s men to school the new boys.
TREBLE @ 52/10
Inter Milan Win 11/20
Roma Win 6/10
Juventus (-2) Handicap 15/10
