Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has vowed to vacate his position if South Africa fails to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
South Africa are currently in second place in Group K with eight points from four games.
They are second to Uganda on 10 points and ahead of Congo (4) and South Sudan (0).
Broos’ team need just one win from their final two games to take their place in the finals in Morocco next year.
Up next for Bafana is a clash away to Uganda on Friday, ahead of a home tie with South Sudan on Tuesday.
Speaking ahead of the weekend’s encounter, Broos said in the Citizen: “It would be a little shame if we don’t qualify for AFCON.
“Honestly, we have the quality, we are bronze medallists. Can you imagine that the bronze medal of nine months ago can’t even qualify for the next AFCON.
“So, I’m not thinking about that because again, my confidence is big in this team, but we can’t. We can’t accept if we don’t qualify for AFCON.
“If we’d lose both games, five minutes after the game, I’m on the flight to Belgium. You can be sure of it.
“If we can’t win, okay Uganda, but at home against South Sudan, I tell you; I’ll immediately take a flight, and you’ll never see me again.”
