Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos knows his side will face a stern test against South Sudan in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday.
South Africa got their AFCON qualifying campaign underway with a last-gasp 2-2 draw with Uganda.
After taking a 14th minute lead through Lyle Foster at the Orlando Stadium on Friday, Bafana were pegged back by goals from Denis Omedi and Rogers Mato before Thalente Mbatha rescued a point deep into injury time.
South Sudan, meanwhile, lost 1-0 away to Congo on Thursday.
Ahead of the upcoming qualifier at the Juba Stadium on Tuesday, the Bafana boss says he is fully aware of the threat their next opponents can cause, especially as they will be playing on a synthetic surface.
He said in the Citizen: “We will have tough game.
“We have watched South Sudan in their last three games against Togo, Sudan and Congo. We know they are an aggressive team.
“I don’t mean that in a negative way, they are very dedicated. And the game will be on a synthetic pitch, that is not what we are used to. We expect a very difficult game.”
Broos added: “You never know if you will win a game, if it is against South Sudan, Nigeria, or whoever. The game against Uganda was difficult, but normally we would win that game.
“Uganda didn’t have so many chances and their second goal was a mistake from our goalkeeper. We had three, four or five other chances to score.
“We will see how the game goes and try to win again.”
