Hugo Broos selects plenty of attacking options in Bafana Bafana squad

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has selected plenty of attacking options in a 23-man squad for the international friendly matches against Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) next month.

Bafana plays neighbours Namibia on 9 September and DRC three days later, with both games taking place at the Orlando Stadium.

Broos trimmed the squad from the 36-man preliminary list that was published last week but largely kept the core of the group that did duty during the 2-1 win over World Cup semifinalists Morocco in June.

French-based striker Lebo Mothiba has made his long-awaited return to the squad as well as Burnley striker Lyle Foster, who scored his first goal in the English Premier League last weekend.

The duo join Percy Tau and Orlando Pirates’ in-form forward Zakhele Lepasa, who has scored nine goals in only seven matches this season.

Grant Magerman who has started the new season on a high for SuperSport United, and former junior international Kobamelo Kodisang who is back in the Portuguese Primera Liga with Moreirense FC are also back in the senior national team setup.
