Hotto: The coach is very good

Deon Hotto is looking forward to achieving “big things” at Orlando Pirates this season under new coach Jose Riveiro.

The relatively unknown 44-year-old Spanish tactician was appointed as a replacement for Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids at the Buccaneers ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The departed duo led Pirates to a ninth-place DStv Premiership finish alongside a run to the CAF Confederation Cup final.
Speaking at the launch of the club’s new kit this week, Hotto explained that he has confidence in the new Bucs boss.
Hotto said in the Citizen: “We know things didn’t really go well for us last season, especially losing the Caf Confederation Cup final.

“But we are looking at fixing everything we did wrong last season.

“Plus we have a new coach Jose Riveiro, who I believe is bringing in a lot of positivity and good energy into the team. So, everybody is just hyped up and we all know how important it is for us to try and win trophies next season.”
Hotto added: “The coach is very good and he seems to have everything organised. He knows what he wants and he has told us. So, slowly but surely we are getting there and another thing is that he is a simple guy who just wants the best for his players.”
