The South African Football Association has named a 50-man preliminary squad for the upcoming COSAFA Cup.
The 2024 COSAFA Cup will be held in South Africa for the seventh straight year, this time in Gqeberha, from 26 June to 7 July 2024.
South Africa is in Group A where they will face Mozambique, Eswatini, and Botswana.
Group B includes Zambia, Comoros, Zimbabwe, and one yet-to-be-confirmed team while Group C contains Angola, Namibia, Lesotho, and Seychelles.
Helman Mkhalele is the head coach of the team, and he will reduce his squad to 23 players in the next few days.
The initial squad includes Orlando Pirates’ Relebohile Mofokeng and seven players from recently relegated Cape Town Spurs.
