Haashim Domingo says he’s looking forward to the next chapter in his career after signing with Cape Town City.
The 28-year-old former Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder joined the Citizens after parting ways with Moroccan side Raja Club Athletic.
Domingo had signed for the Botola Pro League club this past season but only made 10 appearances, under former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer.
After joining the Citizens, Domingo expressed his desire to help the team while rediscovering his best form.
The player posted on social media his reason for signing for City.
He said: “The biggest factor would be, definitely the playing style, the identity of the club, and then also to be back in the Mother City.
“What I would like to achieve is definitely to help the club and the team be successful. From a personal perspective – goals and assists. But for me, it’s all about the team.”
Domingo added that fans can expect to see a hungry player, determined to make an impact.
“The type of player I am, definitely be a technical player you know, that’s my strong point,” he explained. “As you can see, I’m not the physical type, but definitely technical.
“I’m extremely excited to play in front of them [City fans] and hopefully they can come out in numbers and support us.”
