Ozil is struggling to force his way into the side this season and speculation suggest all is not well between himself and Gunners boss Unai Emery.

The Germany international has made just two appearances this season and it has been claimed Emery has not been impressed with his attitude in training.

The player’s work-rate appears to be the main issue for the Gunners chief, who has preferred to use other members of his squad, meaning Ozil has mainly had to settle for a place on the bench at best.

Ozil is apparently in no rush to move on and is happy to pick up his £350,000-per-week wages, but Arsenal would like such a high earner off the books as soon as possible.

Finding a club to meet the player’s financial demands would be an issue and Arsenal could find themselves having to supplement them if a loan deal can be hammered out.

Reports are rife suggesting Fener are open to a loan deal in the January transfer window, and would be keen to take Ozil for the remainder of the season, with the potential for a permanent move at the end of it.

Arsenal are said to have opened talks with Fenerbahce although the player may take some convincing.

There had also been talk of Ozil heading over to the US to play for DC United, but nothing has materialised on that front and he remains at the Emirates for now.

Whether that changes in the new year remains to be seen, but it is thought Arsenal want to move him on if they can and Fenerbahce look to be the best option.
