Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has said that his club will take action against Kaizer Chiefs over the unexpected departure of left back Godfrey Walusimbi.
The Kenyan club were enraged after the Ugandan unexpectedly left for South Africa amid reports of an imminent move to Kaizer Chiefs, accusing chairman Kaizer Motaung of admitting to tapping the player up.
Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung confirmed that Walusimbi is in the country and in the process of negotiating a deal to join the Glamour Boys.
However, he refuted claims made by Mahia, with IOL quoting him as saying: “He is here at the village (club headquarters), and we are going about things the right way. We will make further announcements when we have agreed a deal with his club.
“But the player has not gone missing from his club. Maybe there was some confusion as the coach (Kerr) obviously wants to keep the player.”
However, according to Futaa, Kerr said: “Walusimbi is out of the equation, he chose himself to go to South Africa, he didn’t have my permission, he didn’t have the club’s permission. Him, the agent and Kaizer Chiefs are the ones to blame for this and we will take action against all three of them.”
Chiefs were recently accused of signing a player who still had a contract with Madagascan side Fosa Juniors, Andriamirado “Dax” Andrianarimanana. However, that dispute was resolved and “Dax” is now awaiting his work permit as he gears up for life at Naturena.
