Gift Motupa has rejoined former club Baroka following his exit from Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 29-year-old striker was left without a team after his departure from the Brazilians in January.
He was recently on trial with SuperSport United but rejected by Gavin Hunt, who felt the player was a long-way from being match fit.
But he has a chance to regain the form that saw Sundowns sign the player from the now defunct Bidwest Wits after joining the Motsepe Foundation Championship side.
While Hunt explained his decision not to sign the player, Bakgaga chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has welcomed Motupa back with open arms.
Hunt said oin SuperSport: “With Gift, we can’t sign him this season. We won’t be able to take him. I’ve spoken to him and he just came to train with us.
“You know he never had much football action so he’s just trying to get fit with us and we’ll see by May-June which is only two to three months away.”
Mphahlele posted on Twitter: “My son…my son is back.”
