German Bundesliga: Week 24 Preview

One thing you can always count on from the German Bundesliga is goals. There is currently an average of 3.25 goals per game, so if you’re a fan of our Totals market, this just might be the way to go. There are nine exciting fixtures on the menu this weekend, so let’s keep this short and get straight to it.

Friday 21 February

Bayern Munich 1/25

Draw 25/2

Paderborn 33/1

(21:30)

Table-toppers Bayern Munich are unbeaten in their last eight league games, including seven wins and one draw. Basement-dwellers Paderborn have managed just four wins from 24 matches and that doesn’t look likely to improve here. The Bavarians are expected to run riot at the Allianz Arena on Friday night. However, 1/25 is way too short to add to my multiple so I’ll be climbing all over the Home to Win Both Halves – Yes – market at 5/10.

Saturday 22 February

Borussia Monchengladbach 13/20

Draw 32/10

Hoffenheim 36/10

(16:30)

Monchengladbach have been brilliant at home with eight victories on the trot and will be looking to build on that! Hoffenheim have been poor of late with back-to-back defeats and have been inconsistent on the road. The Borussians won the reverse fixture 3-0 and will have their eye on the double come Saturday. The home win is tipped.

Werder Bremen 5/1

Draw 17/4

Borussia Dortmund 9/20

(16:30)

Werder Bremen are placed second from bottom on the standings with four losses on the spin, scoring only once and conceding 10 times. Dortmund have been in great form with four wins from their last five matches. The last 11 meetings have seen both sides find the back of the net. And with that being said, I’m backing BVB on the Matchbet + Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 12/10.

Hertha Berlin 27/20

Draw 47/20

Cologne 39/20

(16:30)

Hertha Berlin are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 win away to relegation-bound Paderborn. Cologne have travelled dismally with seven losses from 10 matches, scoring 11 goals and conceding 26 times in the process. Home advantage is likely to be a key factor in the result here. It won’t be cut and dry but Hertha Berlin are tipped to grind out a win.

Freiburg 19/20

Draw 26/10

Fortuna Dusseldorf 11/4

(16:30)

Freiburg have struggled to maintain winning form this season but have won three of their last five matches on home soil. However, four of their last five games at home have produced under 2.5 goals. Fortuna Dusseldorf are placed 16th on the standings – five points off safety. They are also without a win in their last five matches. Another low-scoring affair is on the cards. Get on the Totals – under 2.5 goals – at even money.

Schalke 31/10

Draw 29/10

Leipzig 8/10

(19:30)

Schalke are winless in their last four league games, including three draws and one defeat. Leipzig ended a drought of wins with a 3-0 drubbing of Werder Bremen last time out. The Royal Blues won the corresponding fixture 3-1, so the Red Bulls will be hungry to return the favour. Leipzig are just one point off the summit and are likely to be tactical in their approach. A narrow away win is tipped.

Sunday 23 February

Bayer Leverkusen 5/10

Draw 7/2

Augsburg 5/1

(16:30)

Bayer Leverkusen have been in top form with four wins from their last five matches. Those five games have produced an average of 4.6 goals per game. Augsburg have been dreadful on the road with three losses in a row, scoring just once and conceding 10 times. Although I’m tempted to get on the totals wagon, the hosts have been in good form and should come out on top. Take Bayer Leverkusen to claim maximum points.

Wolfsburg 15/20

Draw 28/10

Mainz 34/10

(19:00)

Wolfsburg are off the back of a thrilling and impressive 3-2 victory away to Hoffenheim and return to their home ground this weekend. 15th place Mainz have travelled poorly with seven losses from 11 games. The Wolves are unbeaten in the last eight meetings against their opponents and won the reverse tie 1-0. The home team looks a decent bet at 15/20.

Monday 24 February

Eintracht Frankfurt 19/20

Draw 26/10

Union Berlin 11/4

(21:30)

Last but not least, we end the round with a Monday night clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin. The Eagles have been inconsistent this season but have won two home games on the bounce, scoring seven goals without shipping any. Union Berlin have lost three of their last four matches on the road. Eintracht Frankfurt are well worth a punt to utilize home advantage.

TREBLE @ 47/10

Dortmund Win + BTTS 12/10

Bayer Leverkusen Win 5/10

Wolfsburg Win 15/20
